Key specifications
- Stainless steel sweep with a rubber seal — screws to the door face, nothing cut into the door
- Seals the gap over the threshold — order the sweep size and type that matches your door gap
- Holds back dust, drafts, pests, and some outside noise at the bottom of the door
- Extra tall and extra thin — covers a bigger gap without standing far off the door face
- Mounting thickness 1/16" (1.9mm) — the same slim measure for the sweep and mounting plate
- Mounting height 1-1/4" (31.8mm) — the stainless plate the mounting screws pass through
- Overall height 3" (76.2mm) — the full unit measured with the plate and sweep together
- Stainless Steel — the metal is the finish, so there is no coating to chip on a busy entrance
- Security fasteners available on request — call or email if the door needs tamper-resistant screws

Seal Material What the seal itself is made of. Silicone stays flexible in both cold and heat temperature extremes; pile brush suits doors that sweep across the seal.

About the brand

The EC7991 is a door sweep with a rubber blade on a stainless steel carrier, surface mounted, on a stainless steel carrier. It closes the gap between the bottom of the door and the floor — the single biggest hole in most buildings for drafts, dust, noise and insects.
Why this seal
What to check before you order
The width of your door, and the gap under it. Sweeps run 24" to 144", cut to length. The seal drops 3" Total height of unit below the carrier, so that is the gap it closes. Measure both before ordering — too small a drop leaves the gap open, too large and the sweep drags.
Surface mounted — it screws to the face of the door with the fasteners supplied. No routing, no cutting, and it comes off again just as easily, which is why it is the usual choice for a retrofit.
Screws are included. Options such as fire labels, security fasteners and end caps can be added by request — contact us and we will arrange it.
- Comes with screws (#6 x 1/2″ SMS self-drilling screws)
