About the Products
What's the difference between buying from your Amazon store vs. HomebuildersHardware.com? Great question — the products are exactly the same. But ordering directly gives you a more hands-on customer-service experience we can't provide through Amazon and other outlets. Direct orders receive:
- same-day shipping on our Quick Ship range (when ordered before 4 pm ET Monday–Thursday, or noon ET on Friday),
- special seasonal offers,
- first look at new products, and
- better bulk pricing.
Will your finishes match the same finishes as other brands? Yes. All hardware manufacturers who comply with ANSI standards must have matching finishes. Our finishes use the standard BHMA finish codes (such as US26D or US10B), so they match other brands' finishes with the same code.
Can I replace my Baldwin or LCN model with your version? Often, yes. On each product page we note whether it can replace competitive models.
Where are your products made? Our preferred manufacturer, Lawrence Hardware, has been in business since 1876. Their facilities in Canada and China adhere to ISO 9001 standards — recognized as the highest quality attainable in the hardware industry. Our customers have praised Lawrence Hardware as equal to or better than popular name brands.

How can you offer both high quality and reasonable prices? We've spent over a decade building a unique, longstanding relationship with our preferred manufacturer, Lawrence Hardware. Our goal is to give hardware professionals, small businesses, and serious DIYers the kind of great pricing for top-tier hardware usually reserved for large companies — and our bulk/volume discounts are now public, shown right on each product page.
Orders
Do you offer bulk / volume discounts? Yes — and they're public. Quantity discounts are shown directly on each product page and apply automatically at checkout as your order quantity increases. No application, no login. See our Bulk Pricing page.
Do you offer discounts for schools and non-profit organizations? Yes. We offer special discounted pricing for maintenance managers of schools and non-profit organizations, in addition to our public volume discounts. Contact us to set it up.
What forms of payment do you accept? All major credit and debit cards, eChecks, money orders, and wire transfers. As an online store, we ship once we receive payment in full. For extremely large orders, contact our office and we'll discuss terms.
What is your Product Guarantee? We're so confident your hardware won't fail that if you install it and use it as intended and it still fails, we will either replace it free or refund 100% of your purchase price. See our Guarantee.
What's your return policy?
- Quick Ship items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, unused and in their original packaging; a 20% restocking fee applies.
- Made-to-Order items are custom produced for your order and are final sale. If anything is defective, or we made a mistake, we'll refund it in full or replace it.

Are there discounts for purchasing in bulk? Yes — volume pricing that used to be reserved for large commercial orders is now available to everyone, openly. Quantity discounts appear on each product page and apply automatically at checkout.
Shipping
What is "Same-Day Shipping" exactly? Products with the Quick Ship label ship from our New York warehouse the same day you order, when you order before 4 pm ET Monday through Thursday or before noon ET on Friday.
If you ordered later, or on a weekend or holiday (including religious holidays), it typically ships the next business day. Products labeled Made to Order are custom produced for your order and typically ship within 7 business days.
Is there an option for expedited shipping? Certainly — expedited options (including discounted rates) are available at checkout.
Where will my order ship from? Most orders ship from New York. Quick Ship items go out the same business day when ordered before the cutoff (4 pm ET Monday–Thursday, noon ET Friday). Made-to-Order items are custom produced for your order and typically ship within 7 business days.
Do you offer free shipping? Yes. Orders of $299 or more ship free by standard ground: a single item of $299 or more, or a combination of items in one purchase. Items that ship by freight are quoted separately, and we'll tell you before you order.
