Key specifications
- Weatherseal: neoprene rubber — the sealing element itself, so match it to the floor at that opening
- Neoprene rubber wipes the floor as the door closes — a solid seal that blocks more air and dust than bristles
- Seals the gap between the door and the threshold — keeping out dust, drafts, pests, and some sound
- Available in Clear Anodized Aluminum — so the sweep is not the odd piece of hardware on the opening
- Mounting thickness: 1" (25.4mm) — the depth figure to check against the door before you order
- Mounting height: 5/16" (8.1mm) — the vertical figure to check before you order, not after it arrives
- Sweep height: 13/16" (20.6mm) — the figure to compare against the gap under the door you are sealing
- Options: Security Fasteners - (Call or email for details)

The EC71518 is a door sweep with a solid rubber blade, mortise mounted, for wood doors. It closes the gap between the bottom of the door and the floor — the single biggest hole in most buildings for drafts, dust, noise and insects.
Why this seal
A rubber blade seals tighter than a brush on a smooth, even floor, and it blocks more air. It is the default choice for an exterior door where drafts and water are the problem.
What to check before you order
The width of your door, and the gap under it. Sweeps run 24" to 144", cut to length. The seal drops 13/16" below the carrier, so that is the gap it closes. Measure both before ordering — too small a drop leaves the gap open, too large and the sweep drags.
Mortise mounted — it fits into a slot routed in the bottom of the door rather than sitting on the face. It takes more work to install and it looks like part of the door once it is in.
Screws are included. Options such as fire labels, security fasteners and end caps can be added by request — contact us and we will arrange it.
- Comes with screws (#6 x 1/2″ SMS self-drilling screws)
