A 4.5" x 4.5" full mortise commercial butt hinge in stainless steel, with concealed bearings, finished in Satin Stainless Steel US32D. Made for the doors a building opens all day — offices, schools, storefronts and corridors.
Why this one
Heavy Weight at 0.180" thick and certified Grade 1 — the specification for a full-size commercial door in constant use.
The bearings are concealed inside the barrel rather than showing as separate rings in the knuckle. They do the same job of carrying the door's weight, but the hinge reads as a clean unbroken barrel — which is why concealed bearing hinges get specified where the hardware is on show.
What to check before you order
The weight class. Heavy Weight is the one to choose for a full-size or solid-core door on a busy opening. If the door is lighter and the traffic gentler, Standard Weight costs less and is enough.
The prep. Full mortise, square corners, template (arc) screw pattern — it installs flush into the cutout already in the door and frame, with four screws per leaf.
The option. This hinge is offered as Standard, with a Non-Removable Pin, or Fire Rated. Choose the non-removable pin for an outswing door, where the pin could otherwise be tapped out from the outside; choose fire rated for a door that has to hold a rating at inspection.
Sold three hinges to a pack, the standard count for one door, all in Satin Stainless Steel US32D. Certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.1 and A156.7.
