Key specifications
- Kerf-mount weatherstripping — the strip presses into the kerf slot already cut in the frame, so no screws or glue
- Silicone seal element — this is the part that squeezes against the door and blocks the draft
- Seal Type: Large leaf
- Seal measures about 1/2" wide x 1/2" deep — compare it against the gap at your jamb before you order a length
- Fits a 1/8" x 1/4" kerf slot — check that the groove cut in your frame matches before ordering
- Not flush slot location — tells you where the kerf sits on the frame face, so the seal lines up right
- Black seal — it sits in the frame reveal as a dark line rather than something a visitor notices
- Stocked in the common frame lengths — trim on site to fit the opening

About the brand
Embassy
Embassy is Homebuilders Hardware's premium residential and architectural brand. Designed for builders and homeowners who demand top-tier finish quality, durability, and a refined aesthetic. Backed by our Product Guarantee.
Kerf weatherstripping with a silicone seal in a large leaf profile. It presses into the kerf slot — the narrow saw cut already in the face of most modern door frames — and seals against the door where it closes.
Why kerf-mounted
There is nothing to screw and nothing to drill. The barbed edge grips inside the slot, and built-in 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive holds it while it settles. It is the fastest weatherstripping to fit and the easiest to replace when it eventually wears.
Silicone stays flexible in the cold and does not harden or crack over the years, which is what earns it the higher price over sponge rubber.
What to check before you order
Your kerf slot size. This one fits a 1/8" x 1/4" slot, with a seal 1/2" wide by 1/2" deep. Measure the slot in your frame before ordering — weatherstripping that does not match the slot will not grip. If you are unsure, take a photo of the frame edge and contact us.
