Key specifications
- Kerf-mount design — the barb presses into the slot already cut in your frame, so no screws or glue
- Silicone seal material — stays flexible through freezing weather instead of hardening and cracking
- Angular Bulb Profile — the bulb is angled toward the door, so it meets the gap on a slant, not head-on
- 1/2" (12.7mm) seal width — a wide bulb that spreads contact all the way across the door-to-frame gap
- 1/4" (6.4mm) seal depth — low enough that the door still pulls shut and latches the way it always did
- 3/16" (4.8mm) x 1/4" kerf barb — made for wider kerf slots, where a standard 1/8" barb sits loose
- Not flush slot location — the bulb stands out from the frame face so it can reach the door
- Black Silicone — reads as a shadow line on a dark frame and hides the dirt a light seal would show

About the brand
Embassy
Embassy is Homebuilders Hardware's premium residential and architectural brand. Designed for builders and homeowners who demand top-tier finish quality, durability, and a refined aesthetic. Backed by our Product Guarantee.
Kerf weatherstripping with a silicone seal in a angular bulb profile. It presses into the kerf slot — the narrow saw cut already in the face of most modern door frames — and seals against the door where it closes.
Why kerf-mounted
There is nothing to screw and nothing to drill. The barbed edge grips inside the slot, and built-in 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive holds it while it settles. It is the fastest weatherstripping to fit and the easiest to replace when it eventually wears.
Silicone stays flexible in the cold and does not harden or crack over the years, which is what earns it the higher price over sponge rubber.
What to check before you order
Your kerf slot size. This one fits a 3/16" x 1/4" - For wider Kerf slots (standard is 1/8") slot, with a seal 1/2" wide by 1/4" deep. Measure the slot in your frame before ordering — weatherstripping that does not match the slot will not grip. If you are unsure, take a photo of the frame edge and contact us.
- Self-Adhesive weatherstripping comes as a single roll. You can trim to specifications before applying.
