The concave face cups a round door knob instead of meeting it flat, and it fixes to a backplate that spreads the load rather than relying on one screw. The 1-1/8" projection is slightly deeper than the EHG250.
Use it where the wall is plasterboard or the door gets pushed hard. Check your knob clears the wall at 1-1/8" before ordering.
