A ball catch holds a door shut with a spring-loaded ball that drops into a strike in the frame. There is no latch and no handle mechanism — you pull the door and it releases. It is what you fit to a door that has no lock and does not need one: a closet, a pantry, a pair of cabinet doors.
How it is built
It is dual adjustable, so the holding force is set after installation — firm enough that the door stays shut, light enough that it still opens easily. Cast brass on bronze, which is solid metal rather than a stamped shell.
What to check before you order
It mortises into the top edge of the door, so you need a 3/4" bore, 1-7/16" deep. Measure before you drill.
