The EC718 is a surface-mounted door sweep with a nylon brush seal, 3/8" deep, on a clear anodized or dark bronze aluminum carrier. It closes the gap between the door bottom and the floor, which is where most of a building's draft, dust and insect traffic gets in.
Why a brush rather than rubber
A brush sweeps over an uneven floor that a solid rubber blade would catch on — tile with grout lines, a worn threshold, carpet at a doorway. It also drags less, so the door is easier to open. On a smooth floor where the tightest possible seal matters, a rubber sweep will seal better.
What to check before you order
Measure the width of your door and the gap beneath it. Available from 24" to 144", cut to length. The brush drops 3/8" below the carrier, so that is the gap it will close. It surface mounts to the door face with the self-drilling screws supplied — no mortising.
End caps and security fasteners are available by request; contact us and we will arrange it.
