Why a commercial deadbolt
A deadbolt does not spring closed; it is thrown deliberately and it does not retract under force the way a latch bolt can. Grade 2 is the certified commercial rating, and this one is UL/cUL listed and ADA capable, so it suits an accessible opening.
What to check before you order
Single or double cylinder. This is single cylinder — key outside, thumbturn inside. A double cylinder needs a key on both sides, which some codes prohibit on an exit door. If in doubt, single cylinder is the safer choice.
Your bore and backset. The Lawrence 560 series is designed for the standard commercial prep. Measure before ordering if the door is already bored.
